Orono Man Pleads Not Guilty To 94 Counts of Sex Crimes 

An Orono man pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to 94 counts of sex crimes involving a young boy.40-year-old Wyatt Higgins-Tripp was indicted in June for gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact and sexual abuse of a minor.Bail was set at $20,000 cash with no contact with young men or any minors if and when he’s set free.The defense argued for the bail amount to be lowered, but that was denied.”We are concerned for the safety of the community at large as well as the integrity of the judicial process and here the court saw it was fit not to change his bail,” said Alice Clifford, Assistant District Attorney. Tripp’s lawyer had no comment.Tripp will be back in court in September.The State is still investigating four other cases involving Tripp and children.
