Penobscot County Chief Deputy Troy Morton said two people are dead after a motorcycle accident in Clifton. The call came in around 6pm Sunday, when a witness said the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed on Route 9 near Molly Camp Molasses Road.Morton said a man and a woman were killed in the crash, neither were wearing helmets. Morton also confirms speed was a factor in the accident. “Early reports are that a motorcycle with two occupants was passing several vehicles, came into the curved portion of this area here on route 9 left its lane, came into an on coming lane and struck the guard rail.”Penobscot County Sheriffs Office has not been able to identify the deceased at this time. Maine State Police are assisting the sheriff’s department in their investigation.
