The Bangor Pride Festival has come to an end.Sunday’s events, titled “we are not there yet,” centered around the LGBT community and religion.Four churches in the greater Bangor area and two others in Hancock County held open mass. One Reverend in Bangor said mass is not a matter of religion, but one of acceptance – which what Pride week is all about. Pastoral Assistant at the Hammond Street Congregational Church, Rev. Greg Music, said “That’s how gay people do. We celebrate, we sing, we dance. And out of our hurt and out of our pain we stand up tall and say this is who we are that’s why we have pride celebrations.”The celebrations ending today with a dance party at the YMCA – with the music playlist named Momentum.
