UPDATED: Forest Fire Extinguished in Newburgh 

Fire crews from eight departments, the Maine Forest Service, and the National Guard dealt with a forest fire Tuesday. It began just before noon on North Road in Newburgh and was extinguished just after 6 P.M. According to Regional Forest Ranger, Jeff Currier, 6 to 7 acres were burned.There could be additional damage.All responders have gone home for the night. The Newburgh Fire Department will return to the scene tomorrow to look for a cause.
