Some local pharmacy employees prepared for the worst on Tuesday. Bangor police and employees at two Miller Drug stores took part in an active shooter drill. The scenario was an attempted pharmacy robbery, ending with employees being shot and police shooting the suspect. Training like this is designed to keep employees prepared for anything. “Evaluators, I can already hear right now, saying oh gosh this didn’t happen, or oh my, we forgot this. So it’s an excellent opportunity even for the smallest things, having a battery in the pager that didn’t work,” said Sgt. Paul Edwards with the Bangor Police Department. After the drill, police and employees discussed what worked well and what could have gone better.
