Lawmakers Fail to Override LePage Veto but Will Try Again 

Maine lawmakers have failed to override a veto by Governor LePage to expand Medicaid to another 70,000 Mainers, but they will try again.The vote in the house Wednesday fell short of the two-thirds majority needed.The governor vetoed the bill Monday, saying he fears the state will ultimately bear the financial burden for the new enrollees.The bill calls for the state to expand Medicaid coverage, but cuts off Maine’s participation in the program after 3 years when the federal government stops fully funding it.
