A $3 million roof construction project is underway at the Bangor Public Library.Library officials said the building is in dire need of repairs. Stephen and Tabitha King, as well as the Bangor City Council will make contributions.Bangor Residents voted in Favor of a bond to contribute to the project on Tuesday. On Wednesday, a group of girl scouts contributed their funds to conserve a piece of the city’s history at the ribbon cutting ceremony. President of the Library Board of Trustees, Lee Chick, said, “I think it’s a testimonial to the community’s feelings on the library. The fact that we have a 100 year old building that is now being prepared for the next hundred years, we’re excited about that.”The President of the Board of Trustees says construction is expected to be complete before winter.
