Friends Of Bangor Public Library Hold Annual Book Sale

There’s a big event at the Bangor Public Library this weekend.They’re holding their annual Friends of the Library book sale on Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.The last hour will be “books-by-the-bag.”For five dollars, you can fill up a grocery bag with as many books as you can.The thousands of books are all donated.”They come from all over the community, people who are moving, supporters, we actually have friends of the library from Glenburn, Winterport, Hampden, so, they come from the attics, and and bookshelves of Penobscot County,” said Ginger Graham, President of the Friends of the Bangor Public Library.Proceeds will go into funding something for the library…In past years, they’ve raised between $4,000 and $5,000.One hot item this year is a signed copy of Stephen King’s “The Stand.
