Maine Motorsports Hall Of Famer Harold Wilcox Dies At 85 

A local car racing pioneer has died. Harold Wilcox is both a Maine Motorsports Hall of Famer and Unity Raceway Hall of Fame member.He raced race cars at Unity Raceway and at the former track in Exeter from the late 40’s until the mid 70’s.He’s probably best known for being the first driver from Maine who was a competitor on the NASCAR circuit. It was known as the Grand National Tour back then.A wake for Wilcox was tonight and the funeral is tomorrow.His son, David, is proud of his dad’s accomplishments.Wilcox was 85.
