Reports: UMaine Will Offer Head Hockey Coach Job To Red Gendron

Multiple reports tonight, including one from Mike McMahon of College Hockey News, say the University of Maine will offer the head hockey coach job to Red Gendron.He’s a former Black Bear assistant, helping Shawn Walsh in 1993 to a national championship, the first for Maine.This past season, Gendron was an associate head coach at Yale, winning a national title with the Bulldogs.Gendron’s also been an assistant in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils, with three Stanley Cup rings to his credit.This does not mean he’s the new head coach yet, but reports say an offer will be made.
