Maine Sports Hall of Famer Pleads No Contest to Child Porn

A Maine sports hall of famer accused of having child porn pleaded no contest in court Thursday.According to his attorney, 62-year-old Dana Wilson of Brewer decided to enter the plea to avoid putting his family on trial.Wilson pleaded no contest to possession of child pornography.He’s scheduled to be sentenced in July.Deputy District Attorney, Mike Roberts says, “This case dragged out for quite awhile, this is about a year since we indicted Mr. Wilson and typically these cases are resolved more quickly , but in the end, we got the result we wanted in terms of a conviction, without the necessity of putting witnesses on the stand.”Defense Attorney, Jeff Silverstein says, “He was determined to avoid putting members of his family in a position where he was forced to testify, he was aware that the state had subpoenaed members of his family, and he did not want to put them through that.”Roberts says he will most likely be suggesting a six months in jail for Wilson.
