Brewers Prepare to “Tap into Summer” 

Something is brewing on the Bangor waterfront.On June 22nd, the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau will host Bangor’s Beer Festival – Tap into Summer. The event includes a VIP tasting, special brews, and discussions with beer experts.Brewers around the state are even trying out new beers for the day. More than a dozen Maine breweries will tap into the event.Executive Director of the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau, Kerrie Tripp, said, “Seadog, Geaghan’s, Black Bear Brewery, Penobscot Bay Brewery. Then we move into Belfast Brewery, Oak Ponds, boy there’s 16 different breweries. A lot of great names that will be there.”Head Brewer at Seadog Brewing Co., Brooks Mathews, said, “It’s so much fun. We all get together and just hang out, talk – talk beer. I mean, come on, we can all learn from each other. It’s incredible for everyone involved.” You can head to for tickets. VIP tickets, which include lunch, are $50 and general admission is $25.The event is only for those who are 21 and older.
