A Celebration To End Hunger In Brewer

Bangor Federal Credit Union’s Brewer Branch gave nearly $15,000 to nine local food pantries.It was part of the bank’s celebration of the Maine Credit Unions’ campaign for ending hunger.Bank employees took part in a number of fundraising efforts to raise the money.”To help support our local community and give back to the people that come in and see us everyday,”said Jessica Webb, co-chair of the bank’s Fundraising Committee. “This money is incredibly helpful, not only to Good Shepherd Food Bank, but it will stay right here in the Greater Bangor, Brewer area and go to support out partner agencies many of whom were represented today,” said Melissa Huston, Director of Philanthropy of the Good Shepherd Food Bank. In total, Maine Credit Union’s raised a record-setting $471,000 to help end hunger in Maine.
