It was a record-breaking weekend in Orono in the fight against cancer. The annual Relay for Life of Penobscot raised more than $226,000 for the American Cancer Society. Organziers say that’s the most a relay has collected in the event’s 20-year history. More than 800 people walked 18-hours on the track at the University of Maine to raise the money. Another similar but much shorter relay is scheduled for next month.The Greater Bangor Bark for Life encourages people to walk with their dogs at Hollywood Casino’s Bangor Raceway.It steps off June 15th.
