Trial to Go as Scheduled for Bangor Woman Accused of Murdering Husband

A woman from Bangor accused of brutally killing her husband will go on trial for that crime next month, as scheduled. The state Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal regarding the competency of 49-year-old Roxanne Jeskey before there’s a verdict.Earlier this month a judge ruled Jeskey is competent to stand trial but also committed her to a psychiatric hospital in Augusta.Doctors previously testified Jeskey’s cognitive and memory skills have been significantly impacted by the removal of a brain tumor a decade ago.But the judge disagreed the impairments are significant enough to call her incompetent.Jeskey’s charged with murdering her husband, 53-year-old Richard Jeskey nearly two years ago.Court documents say she admitted to attacking him with pliers, a box cutter and a plastic baseball bat.
