Greenville Lands Money to Develop Snowmobile, ATV Trail
Greenville is getting a grant for more than $34,000 to develop a snowmobile and ATV trail in the area. The trail would link the Snowmobile Club on Scammon Road to the Prong Pond Trailhead in Beaver Cove. The money comes from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. Three local snowmobile clubs will be building the trail this summer. They hope to have it ready for ATVs at the end of the summer and snowmobiles by winter. The state also awarded $5,300 the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council to use for a walking trail. It will link part of the Appalachian Trail in Monson to the Goodell Brooks Waterfalls.
