Dog Causes Car Crash in Chester

A family’s dog distracted a driver Tuesday morning, causing an accident in Chester. The accident backed up traffic from Rt. 116 for about 2 miles. The driver, 34-year-old Angelique McReavy, says that while returning from a trip to the vet’s office, her dog jumped into the driver’s seat.That caused her to miss a stop sign and slam into the side of a tractor-trailer near the at the intersection of Mattamiscontis Road. She and her two children were transported to a local hospital. State police say they did not suffer any serious injuries, no word yet on the condition of the dog. The truck driver, 58-year-old Donald Breton of Sabattus was uninjured. No charges are expected to be filed.
