Fire Marshal’s Office Make Two Arrests In Third Lewiston Fire

The state fire marshal’s office has made two arrests in connection with the fire in the Bartlett Street area last Monday.Bryan Wood, 23, of Lewiston, and Brian Morin, 29, a transient, have both been charged with three counts of arson, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. Lewiston Police Chief Michael Bussiere announced the arrests in a news conference on Friday night at the police department. Wood lives at on Bartlett St. and Morin had been staying with Wood. They are being held at the Androscoggin County jail in Auburn and are expected to make initial court appearances on Monday or Tuesday, McCausland said.The Monday morning fire in the Bartlett Street area is not related to the other fires in the downtown that occurred on April 29 and May 3.The two previous fires have both been determined to be arson, with different 12-year-old boys charged in each.
