EMMC employees spruced up Bangor on Friday. The clean up was the kick off for National Hospital Week. The hospital workers from all different departments spread mulch and planted flowers at Chapin Park.EMMC hopes Chapin Park Clean Up Day promotes healthy activity in the community and it’s a way for the hospital to support their local neighborhood.”It’s a great feeling when you can come out into a community and actually volunteer to give back a little bit in a public way so that people realize that a community is like a big family and we certainly want to be a part of that family and pick up our part where it needs to be,” said Randy Hussey, Fire & Safety Officer for EMMC Hospital. In addition to the park clean up, EMMC will be holding a blood pressure screening clinic for National Hospital Week. The clinic will be on Thursday, May 16th from 1-3pm at the EMMC Healthcare Mall on Union Street. The screenings are offered at no cost. The hospital just wants to offer a quick and painless way for locals to find out their numbers.
