Bangor Woman Accused of Killing Husband Competent to Stand Trial

A judge says a woman from Bangor accused of brutally murdering her husband is competent to stand trial. But she also committed 49-year-old Roxanne Jeskey to a psychiatric hospital in Augusta. In a competency hearing last month, four doctors testified Jeskey’s cognitive and memory skills have been impacted by the removal of a brain tumor a decade ago.But the judge ruled Tuesday that the impairments are not significant enough to call her incompetent.Jeskey’s scheduled to go on trial in late June for killing 53-year-old Richard Jeskey. Court documents say Jeskey admitted to attacking him with pliers, a box cutter and a plastic baseball bat in June of 2011.Jeskey’s lawyers filed an appeal to the ruling Wednesday, which we’re told could delay the trial.
