Two heroes were honored in Sidney, Tuesday, for their part in saving a little boy’s life last week.11-year-old abby whitcomb, and her bus driver, Nathan Philbrick were celebrated. On the ride to school last Tuesday, Abby noticed that 5-year-old Michael Rimmers was crying and his face was white. She yelled to Philbrick, who could tell Michael was choking. He gave the little guy the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging a piece of candy.”I’m very thankful, like I said, I can’t put a price on my son’s life. I can’t,” said Linda Breault, Michael’s mom.”Abby’s the one that deserves all the attention. If it wasn’t for her, I’d never have even noticed it. He’s so small that all I could see was the top of his head over the seat,” said Nathan Philbrick. The two received presents and praise from the town for their quick thinking in the situation.
