Local Church Celebrates 175th Anniversary 

A local church that’s been around longer than the town in it’s in has a reason to celebrate.Veazie Congregational Church turned 175 on Sunday.It was a celebration of old and new with hymns, antique cars, and an ice cream social.Worshippers first gathered back in 1838 and have celebrated their lengthy history ever since.Reverend David Fox said, “We are respectful of our heritage and we feel privileged to be the caretakers of an ongoing legacy.”If you’d like to see a piece of history, the church will be opening its doors to the public Saturday, May 11th from 11am to 1pm.
