Hundreds Take Part in the Bangor-Brewer March for Babies
A perfect day for a walk brought out over 200 people for the March for Babies in Brewer and Bangor on Sunday.The annual fundraising event benefits the March of Dimes. The programs help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It also funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten babies.Andi Denis is part of this year’s Ambassador Family for the March of Dimes and she said “We are walking because I feel like it’s so important to raise awareness for this cause. I would never wish any other parent or family to have to have a preemie, a baby born sick or too soon.”The Community Director for the March of Dimes, Bethany Carlson, said, “The money that we raise here goes back to the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes does a lot of research. We actually have an active grants at Jackson Laboratory.”This year the organization is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
