Mock Funeral to Raise Awareness of Student Debt 

There was a mock funeral with meaning at UMaine on Friday.The Maine Peace and Action Committee, a student group on campus, held the event.They wanted to raise awareness of the high cost of education and student loan debt.”I hope that it will get more students involved,” said Eric Collins, a grad stuendent at UMaine. “I hope that university officials and administrators will maybe see this on the TV or will have seen it today and they will change their priorities, ensuring quality less expensive education for students.”The Maine Peace Action Committee has been at UMaine since 1974.They began by protesting the Vietnam War on campus.
