Judge Awards $1.5 Million in Damages to Rape Victim
A Rockport woman who was raped three years ago has been awarded $1.5 million in damages. Bradley Lemay, 46, is serving 55-years for gross sexual assault, eluding a police officer, and tampering with the victim after the crime. A woman testified Lemay came into her home, threatened her with a knife, and raped her. Monday, a judge ruled the victim should collect damages because of the crime. Her lawyer tells TV 5 they will now determine if Lemay has any assets to pay the money. The attack in 2010 happened just a few months after Lemay was released from prison after serving 21-years for kidnapping and sexual assault.
