A car accident closed part of Interstate-95 going northbound on Saturday afternoon. At 3:15pm there the accident was reported at mile marker 212 in Edinburgh.”The blue truck was parked in the breakdown lane and tried to remerge with traffic and the driver of the black truck didn’t see him. Ran into the back of him, caused the blue truck to roll a couple times. The driver was ejected and lifeflighted to eastern Maine with moderate injuries,” said Trooper Lawrence Anderson with the Maine State Police. Authorities say the passenger of the truck was also ejected from the vehicle.He suffered only minor burns.The driver of the truck and the passenger are adult males. The female driver of the black SUV suffered only minor injuries.Her 2-year-old son was in the back seat.He recieved minor seat belt injuries. The accident closed the highway for over 45 minutes.State Police, the Penobscot Sherrif’s Department, and the Maine Warden Service responded to the scene along with several other local police and fire and rescue officials. The accident is still under investigation at this time.
