MS Walk Brings Awareness to the Disease
This weekend’s great weather meant many people were enjoying the outdoors. Over 300 people in Bangor and Brewer decided to hit the streets.It’s part of the annual Multiple Sclerosis walk – the MS Society’s largest fundraiser of the year.Hundreds of walks take place all around the country, raising over $3 million nationwide.The biggest race in Maine is held in Portland. One organizer said the walk it’s important to bring attention to the MS population. National MS Society Development Coordinator, Casey Cote, said, “It varies from individual to individual. So sometimes you may not even know that somebody has MS. So, it’s good to get the awareness and get people a little more familiar with.Another MS walk will take place Sunday in Augusta.
