Brush Fire in Stetson Burns Acre of Land

Almost an acre of land was burned in a brush fire Saturday.Officials said the homeowner lost control of the fire because of the wind.Maine Forest Ranger Aaron Bailey said the homeowner did have a permit and no laws were violated. He added, “Unfortunately, the fire started to get away from him. He said the wind picked up and he couldn’t get around the whole thing with his garden hose and it started burning into the grass and the field behind it.”The ranger asks that people burn after 5pm this time of year so departments can respond as needed. It’s also important to have a garden hose handy.
