Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Maine Turnpike in Litchfield
The Maine Turnpike Authority said a small plane had to make an emergency landing on the turnpike Friday morning.Spokesman Dan Morin said the plane ran out of gas and landed at mile 95 northbound in Litchfield. The plane has been moved off the highway to the former service plaza in Litchfield while state police get gas for the plane. Once the plane is fueled up, police will close the northbound lanes to allow the plane to take off, according to Morin. The pilot was not hurt.
