Brewer Robotics Team Heads to International Competition

The Brewer High School Robotics team is about to take on the world.”Orange Chaos”, as they call themselves, got on the road Tuesday afternoon for the “FIRST Robotics” event in St. Louis. During the three day international competition, students are asked to use their robots to perform prescribed tasks against competitors.Earlier this month, the group took home the “Rookie All Star Award” at the Pine Tree Regional Robotics Competition in Lewiston, which qualified them for the event in Missouri.The award is given to a first year team that represents team work, cooperation, and problem solving skills, while, of course, building a competitive robot.The ‘Chaos’ says they’re just glad to have qualified.The Messalonskee team won the regional title in Lewiston and is also in pursuit of a world title in St. Louis.You can follow their progress live from April 25th to the 27th by logging on to http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/robotics/.
