“Magic of Motown” Show Raises Money for Local Non-Profits

Local performers were doing the jump, jive and wail, all for a good cause.Bangor High School came to life with the Magic of Motown Broadway show this weekend.It’s an annual event put on by the Bangor Rotary Club to raise money for local non-profits.As the performers tell us, dancing and singing for a cause makes it even more fun.Performer Christie Robinson said, “We have a good time just performing anyway, but to do it for a charity is even better.Rotary Club President Scott Boucher said giving back to the community is important to the club.”It’s a way for the rotary club to give back to our local community, to help these non-profits that are in the local area who are trying to make a positive impact and it really does follow the guidelines of what rotary is all about,” Boucher said.The club hopes to surpass last year’s goal of $28,000.The money will benefit organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Penquis Child Development.
