Lawmakers Consider Bill Allowing Concealed Weapons Without Permits 

Maine lawmakers are considering a bill that would let people carry concealed weapons without permits.Representative Aaron Libby of Waterboro has proposed a bill that drew a large crowd to a hearing before the criminal justice and public safety committee. He says it’s about letting law-abiding people protect themselves and it would free up police from having to process concealed weapons permits.The bill comes up as lawmakers consider a separate bill to block public release of information on concealed weapons permit holders.
