AG: Trooper Justified in Use of Deadly Force

Maine’s attorney general has ruled that a state trooper was justified in using deadly force during a standoff last year in Minot. The attorney general says Michael Callahan, 44, fired dozens of shots in the direction of police and officers had good reason to fear for their safety. Callahan was not shot and he surrendered shortly after Trooper Paul Casey shot in his direction. Callahan was charged with reckless conduct with a firearm and domestic violence criminal threatening.
