Charges are pending against a woman involved in a standoff with police in Washburn that lasted more than 9 hours. Authorities were called to a house off Route 164 around 1 a.m. Tuesday.Washburn Police Chief Roy Guidry says a 44-year-old woman was accused of assaulting her boyfriend with a weapon. The man made it out of the house and called police. When the woman wouldn’t come out, a state police tactical team was eventually brought in, along with negotiators. The woman surrendered about 10:30 a.m. We’re told she’d hurt herself and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
