UMaine Men’s Basketball Player Justin Edwards Decides To Transfer 

The University of Maine confirming this afternoon that men’s basketball player Justin Edwards has decided to transfer after the semester.The sophomore was the leading scorer in America East this season, putting up almost 17 points per game. He was the first Black Bear to win the conference scoring title since Dean Smith did it 23 years ago.Edwards was also named to the All-America East second team.The 6-foot-3 guard using Twitter this afternoon to thank the Black Bear fans, his teammates, and the community.He says he’s looking to gain more exposure at the highest level during his next two years on the court.Coach Ted Woodward saying this afternoon, “Justin is a fine young man,” and thanked him for his contributions to the program.
