UMaine Baseball Swaps Series With Albany, Home Opener This Weekend

The UMaine baseball team switched spots last weekend, opting to play in Hartford instead of Orono, because Connecticut didn’t have any snow. This weekend, Maine’s doing a reverse! The Black Bears will switch home series with Albany, because the Great Danes have a grass field. That means the Black Bears will go to New York in May, and Saturday and Sunday will be opening weekend at Mahaney Diamond. UMaine took advantage of the dry turf this afternoon and had a scrimmage. The team has yet to play a real game in Orono after 26 straight on the road. This weekend’s schedule is as follows: a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1PM, and a single game on Sunday at 1PM.Conference play has been good to Maine so far. The Black Bears are 4-2 in America East.
