A church in Hampden damaged in last month’s blizzard will be open for services, again, this weekend – just in time for Easter. The winter storm in early February blew out a window at Hampden Highlands United Methodist Church. Then pipes inside the building froze and burst, leaving a foot-and-a-half of water in the basement. Most of the damage was limited to the new addition at the church, but floors, walls and parts of the ceiling had to be replaced. It cost at least $30,000 to repair. The pastor says it took a lot of work from members, volunteers and local businesses to clean up the mess so quickly.Sunday’s Easter service at the church is scheduled for 10 a.m.
