An Ellsworth police officer charged with domestic violence assault in January is now on unpaid administrative leave. 30-year-old Andrew Weatherbee has pleaded not guilty.Weatherbee was initially put on paid leave after Holden police said a disagreement between Weatherbee and his girlfriend led to him pushing and shoving her.Now the Ellsworth city manager says Weatherbee won’t be getting paid while the criminal case against him is still in progress.Weatherbee was in court last week asking for the judge to lift the bail condition that says he can’t be in contact with his girlfriend. The judge denied the bail change, but says he will meet with all parties soon, including the victim, to reconsider.Weatherbee’s next scheduled court appearance is May 7th.
