It’s a sure sign of spring when the Eastern Maine Sportsmen’s Show is back in town. The 75th annual event is in Orono this weekend. The organizers and vendors donate their own time for the show, making it the longest running volunteer outdoor exhibition in the country. Different vendors showcase boating, RV’s, and fishing. The money raised from admission fees go towards a scholarship for University of Maine and Unity College students.President of the Penobscot County Conservation Association, Tony Richard said “That’s really the driving function for why we exist. In addition to trying to encourage an appreciation of the outdoor recreation here in Maine and getting more children involved in the outdoors.”The show will go until 8:00 Saturday night. Doors will reopen Sunday at 9 am for the last day of the event.
