Senator Collins and Senator King got a delivery on Wednesday. The Maine People’s Alliance brought petitions to their offices in the Federal Building in Bangor. They’re asking congress to “pull the pork” from the military budget, saying the Pentagon’s spending is out of control.”We don’t want to weaken our military, but we want to make sure that it’s effective and efficient and we want to make sure that it’s being spent in the right way, on our veterans coming home, things like that,” said Maine People’s Alliance member Grace Falconer. They’re concerned sequestration cuts, set to take hold Friday, could hurt middle class families.
