One of the most memorable nights in high school can also be the most expensive. That’s why the women of St. Martin’s Thrift Store in Millinocket organized “Gown Night”. On Thursday, about 20 girls picked out a donated, lightly worn prom dress for small price.Organizers are doing everything they can to make sure that the cost of a dress doesn’t prevent any girl from enjoying her prom. “Our mission tonight is to have a special evening for all the girls in this area. We want every girl to have the chance to make their prom or their winter carnival dreams come true,” said Kathleen Eyles, manager of the store. They still have plenty of gowns available. If you or someone you know would like to pick one up, or donate a dress, St. Martin’s Thrift Store is located at 112 Maine Avenue in Millinocket and open every Wednesday and Thursday from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M.
