A plunge into chilly waters helps families and children each year. Fundraising for the 13th Annual Polar Bear Dip kicked off Friday. Students from Washington County Community College took a tour of the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor on Friday. The money the students raise through the polar bear dip goes directly to the Ronald McDonald House. ” The Ronald McDonald House has always been a huge help to the residents of Washington County helping families stay here, so it’s our way to do something for them for doing so much to help our communities in Washington County,” said Christine Phillips, a student at Washington County Community College. The dip is Friday, March 1st at noon at the Pleasant Point Reservation Pier in Perry. The theme is super heroes and villains, so everyone is encouraged to dress up.
