Update: Cause of Fatal Easton Fire Undetermined, Smoking Materials Not Ruled Out 

Investigators say they can’t determine the cause of a fire that killed two brothers in Aroostook County.But they’re not ruling out careless disposal of smoking materials.The fire started about 5 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Richardson Road in Easton.57-year-old Mark Beaton owned the house. He and his 56-year-old brother, Paul, were killed. Eight other people in the house were able to get out of the burning building. Investigators say the group of adults had been drinking alcohol and smoking for hours before the fire. The bodies of the two men were found by firefighters, one on each floor of the home. We’re told there were no working smoke detectors. The house is a total loss.
