Consumer Alert For Corporations and Non-Profits

Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap has a warning for corporations and non-profits in Maine. His office has fielded questions about the legitimacy of letters from a company called “Corporate Records Service”.The letters look like state material.Corporations and non-profits are being asked to file information, and send along $125 dollars, to complete corporate meeting minutes.State law does not require Maine corporations to file minutes with the Secretary of State.Dunlap says anyone with questions can call the Division of Corporations at 624-7752.
