Gun Control Legislation on the Mind of Maine Lawmakers 

A large portion of the 1,780 bills submitted by Maine lawmakers on Sunday are expected to be on gun control or related issues. Details of the bills are still unclear. Assistant House Democratic leader Jeff McCabe of Skowhegan says some proposals are propositions to reconsider gun magazine size and the current system for criminal background checks.Democratic House Speaker Mark Eves of North Berwick says once there’s a better understanding of what those bills call for, lawmakers will be able to craft a comprehensive approach to gun safety.
