An annual wild game dinner is being held in Skowhegan Friday night and there’s some interesting dishes on the menu. The First Church of the Nazarene in Skowhegan hosts the dinner every year.It features mostly wild game harvested by parishioners out of the Maine woods. Some of the dishes on the menu this year include, partridge stir fry, bear jambalaya, and barbeque venison. “We also have buffalo meatballs and that is something we purchased. Last time I checked buffalo aren’t roaming around here. We did get ahold of a 480 pound wild Russian boar we have been smoking that all night long and we’re looking at doing pulled pork,” said Pastor Brian Hale. The dinner is at the First Church of the Nazarene located at 31 East Madison Road in Skowhegan. The doors open at 5:00 Friday and dinner is served at 6:00.This is the sixth year they’ve offered the dinner. All the proceeds go to a number of different projects both inside the church and throughout the community.
