Local participants in the “Relay For Life†kicked off their fundraising efforts in Bangor on Tuesday. This year, the group is celebrating 20 years of fundraising for The American Cancer Society in Penobscot County. Team captains were recognized for their efforts with awards and dinner at Hollywood Casino. Newcomers also had the opportunity to sign up. On May 17th and 18th, participants from 85 teams will walk the University of Maine track to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment.
