A Bangor woman charged with the murder of her boyfriend pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity on Friday, according to the Bangor Daily News. 53-year-old Gail Judd is accused of stabbing 47-year-old Michael Drouin to death in February of last year.In April, Judd pleaded not guilty to intentional or knowing murder. The plea entered on Friday does not replace the initial one, but is in addition to it.Her attorney argues a liver condition, causing too much ammonia to leak into her system, makes her delirious. For that reason, he believes Judd may have been in an altered state of mind at the time of the murder. She is currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail.A trial date has not been set.
