Accused Murderer Reported to be in Maine Captured in Ohio

The man wanted for murder in New York City who was believed to be in Maine has been captured in Ohio. Lt. Wesley Hussey with the Maine State Police tells TV 5 Raymond Mayrant was found in Ohio on Friday. Hussey says the car Mayrant reportedly stole from Augusta was also found in Ohio. Mayrant is accused of killing the grandmother of his child and attempting to kill the mother of his child earlier this month in New York City. Augusta Police say Mayrant was seen at the Motel 6 there on Wednesday. When he was seen in Augusta, police say he was in a stolen Nissan Altima: that car has been found in Ohio. State Police received several reports that Mayrant was seen at Eddington Auto in Eddington on Thursday in a gold Toyota van. Police now say that report was not accurate, since Mayrant was found in Ohio. The stolen car police say Mayrant was in in Augusta has also been found in Ohio.
