Maine State Police say speed and alcohol were factors in a deadly crash Wednesday morning in Manchester. It happened around midnight on Granite Hill Road. Police say Joshua Lavine, 31, of Wilton, died when the car he was driving struck a large rock, then several trees, and landed on its roof. Lavine’s passenger, William Decastro, 62, of Chesterville, has serious injuries but is expected to survive. Police say both of the men had been drinking and were not wearing seat belts. According to police, Lavine had a suspended driver’s license.
